Some of my mask quilts are hanging in a school in Las Vegas, for African History Month. A teacher there carved the gourds in the showcase.

Well, the teacher that carved the gourds wasn't really a teacher, she is actually an interpreter for my deaf and hard of hearing students. She is an amazing woman, adopted three special needs kids as a single woman, sent them all to college, raising a grandson now, volunteers to tutor at risk kids, and takes kids of prison inmates to visit them... If you can think of some kind of charitable thing this woman does it.
