I hope you can see the picture. Can't get rid of the glare. This is before grouting. I think I'll use white grout.
It's already the dog days of summer, see?

Saturday morning I'll be in ArtSmart, the downtown Saline artists' market!
It's always the last Saturday of the month, all summer.
See us on the grass at Stone Arch, 8 a.m. to noon!
Numbers 107-110, Zen Tangles. This is a meditative pursuit. It's doodling, organized.

A new mosaic, made entirely from scrap glass, taken from the trash in a mosaic studio. I used nearly all of it as found, only cut about 5 pieces. Number 106, Scrap Flowers

Art Salad, June 6- We will doing a musical chairs painting on canvas. This is sure to be hilarious fun. Each person will take home a piece of this group project, that can be used in another work of art. I can't show you a picture, you just gotta be there. Please sign up with the office, so I have enough canvas.
These are slump molded glass tiles. I made them by melting glass into a mold I made. I think they could be coasters. Or we could make little ornaments. This will be a class in the Fall, at Two Twelve Arts. Numbers 102-103
Sorry for the blurry image, my arm's too short. This is a fused glass bracelet. Sorry, I am not able to teach this, yet! Number 101
This is a photo that is fused to the glass. Tres cool,? It's my daughters' Nitrogen Fuel Cell Car team.

This is a 9 inch plate. It will be a class, though we'll make a smaller version, to fit our kiln. Number 99. I learned a lot in class at Delphi Glass. It was well worth going. Our teacher, Val, was excellent.

This a cast glass mold of an African style mask. It's solid glass. We'll have a casting class at Two Twelve Arts in September. Number 98
This is a small plate. I'll make more samples, and we'll have a class to make these in the Fall. Number 97
This looks like a tangle of nightcrawlers, but it's glass threads. If I put these on a solid color plate, and fire it, they will make a curly design. 96
May be hard to see, but these are bracelets, not yet bent to shape. I don't know if they'll get finished or not, since I don't have a bracelet form. 94, 95
A few new pendants. I'll count these as one, 93.

I am attending a three day glass fusing class. In one day I have learned so much, I can hardly wait to play with the new techniques. Watch this space for some new glass work coming soon.

A purse, made by Marcy, in my class Thursday.
We had 3 lovely days of all day parties with the family. We played bean bag toss, had violin, trumpet, and guitar music played by granddaughter, grandson, and Grandpa. Sat on the patio, told stories of growing up, attended a first communion, and celebrated a confirmation. We saw one granddaughter in a play, as an Oompa Loompa, which was hilarious. And we acknowledged all the mothers in the group, seven of us. We planted trees, and made plans for summer fun. Couldn't ask for better times.

The baby quilt is finished. See the little chaps and cowboy hats on on the border?

Art Salad projects from class last night. We used clayboard, and incised designs. Then we painted, inked, added modeling paste, scratched, painted, applied paper, and varnished. Lynn Friman did a lot more incising of fine lines, and made a very cool scene.

This is my son, a new MBA, from UM. He graduated with Distinction.
This is Anne Sheill's Cake challenge. It's a hilarious take on Monica Conyers and Martha Stewart sharing a cell, at Camp Cupcake. You should see this in person, very funny.
This is part of the show at My Favorite Cafe, a wall with Cake Challenges and coffee art.

This is my Cake challenge piece. It's a painting, which is a different medium for me. You can see it in person at My Favorite Cafe, in downtown Saline. Number 91
