A little fairy, sitting on a toadstool. Number 90. I haven't decided if this should be finished or not. It's about 30" wide by 36" high.

After our tour of the Detroit Opera House, we went to Small Plates, right across the street, for lunch. My food was terrific, spring rolls, and homemade french fries with homemade ketchup. An odd combination, but I shared a bit of grilled eggplant on a baguette, and boursin cheese and tomatoes on a baguette.
On the grand staircase. The set for Don Giovanni was being installed while we were there, so only half of our group had a chance to go on stage. But we saw all of it, up close. I recommend this tour. It cost $10 per person, and was well worth it.
In the costume shop, at the Opera House. I think Jean found a prop left from Frankenstein. We got to handle and inspect the costumes!
We had 2 guides, Helen and Joan.

This is the final result. I sewed in here today. I am tired, my back hurts, my hands ache, and I have about 10 trips to make, carrying stuff downstairs. But, I'm smiling.

This is Deb's challenge piece. It was cut in many pieces, and the rickrack vine, stands in for yarn. She plans to put leaves and flowers on too.
The new creativity prompt (challenge) is...Burn the edge. Remember it must be fiber art.

This is Gail's birthday party. We may have rushed the season, but it was such a pretty day. We cooked hotdogs on the grill, and ate outside. Rick is a member of the Bagettes now, he's a bagboy.

This is a little part of my MQAI entry. I can't show you any more until the show opens in September. Number 84.
This is my challenge piece. It was cut into many pieces, and I added yarn. No broderie perse, too bad. Number 83.

I have a creativity challenge fiber art piece to make. My words are
1. Add yarn.
2. Cut into many pieces.
3. Add broderie perse. (Cut a figure from a printed fabric, and applique it to my piece.)
I can interpret these any way I want, the fiber art is due Thursday. I'll work on it today, and post, if I get anything done. It doesn't have to be finished, but I must make a good faith start on it.
Wish me luck, my mind is blank.
