A new bag, ready for felting. Number 272. Will post after felting.
A new Ghoul! Just in time to hang at my party tonight. I placed him on a mosaic mirror, so people can see a foreshadowing of their future. He is celebrating Dia de los Muertos. He arrived in the mail, from Leannderthal, so look at her blog.
Finished, Bird Wreath, and Dark Poinsettias. Number 271, 272.

This was my booth at the Michigan Garden Clubs annual meeting today. I was one of 8 vendors invited. Next to me was Motawi Tile, which was a terrible temptation, (I succumbed).
The people were nice, the place was lovely.

The colors in the trees were really great, can you tell? This was on the way home from our honeymoon. We had 30 hours, to go to Niagara Falls and get back, for school and work.
Forty years ago yesterday, people were much blurrier. This is my wedding party, best man Dennis, Husband Rick, Bride, me, maid of honor Chris, flower girl Elizabeth. We are standing outside the new Presidential Inn, before the brunch reception.

Art Walk open house is over. It was a fun experience. I got to meet some people I have only corresponded with before. I also got to see how many people in town Jean knows (a lot). The owners and waitstaff at Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack were gracious, and friendly. I think I had the best place to be showing art. Now I'm taking a couple days off, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. (Yes, that's right, I was married 5 years before birth.)

Jean Canavan and me, at our Art Walk display. We are at Mac's Seafood, in Saline. There are artists at other locations around Saline too. See Kelsey at Spotted Dog Winery, Linda at Brecon Grille, and several people at My Favorite Cafe. We've had a good response from many people.
This is my display at Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack. I am there for Art Walk. Come see me tomorrow, Saturday, between noon and 5 p.m. Go to www.annarborartwalk.com for more info.

Four larger pieces, 22" by 36". These were dyed with the leftover dye, poured near the edges of the containers. I got a little enthusiastic, and kept pouring until it was all gone. 258.
This is what we did in class last night, 30 step gradation dyeing. The pieces are about 9" by 20". I scrunched the fabric, other people tied with twine or rubber bands. I am eager to see how those look. Mine are quite cool. Do these look like fish to you? Or flowers? Number 257.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Today I dyed fabric, with 5 people. I expect to show you some tomorrow. It was fun to do, but will be more fun when we see the finished fabric. I have a 30 step gradation, which goes all around the color wheel. And I have a bunch of bits I poured all the leftover dye onto, including the wiping rags. Too bad I had a couple holes in my gloves, and am decorated.

Today I went to Ghoultide Gathering, in Northville. It was a beautiful show of Hallowe'en themed art. The vendors were splendidly dressed, as you see in the first picture. The Mill Race is lovely to see, the perfect setting for these creations. and the gate keepers were wonderful to behold. Did you catch sight of Gail, with a friend?
