This is Gail's birthday party. We may have rushed the season, but it was such a pretty day. We cooked hotdogs on the grill, and ate outside. Rick is a member of the Bagettes now, he's a bagboy.

This is Sandy's challenge piece for the Creativity Prompts we are making. It has seed stitch, broderie perse, cut into many pieces, and yarn.

This will be 85, as soon as it's quilted.

This is my challenge piece. It was cut into many pieces, and I added yarn. No broderie perse, too bad. Number 83.

I have a creativity challenge fiber art piece to make. My words are
1. Add yarn.
2. Cut into many pieces.
3. Add broderie perse. (Cut a figure from a printed fabric, and applique it to my piece.)
I can interpret these any way I want, the fiber art is due Thursday. I'll work on it today, and post, if I get anything done. It doesn't have to be finished, but I must make a good faith start on it.

What are these flowers??? Made from sheer silk, this art quilt has 3 otherworldly flowers reaching for the stars. Sparkles grow up the stems, and in the sky. Number 82.

A new Blazing Sunflower art quilt. Number 81. This has glitter, and sequins, and velvet, and silk. Oh my. It will be my entry in the International Quilt Festival this year.

This book is a very helpful guide for mark making on cloth. We referred to it several times this weekend.

Deconstructed Screen Printing
I made this screen, and this is the first 4 prints. The next picture is print 5-8. You can see how the screen breaks down with each one. My made items count is now 66 for this year.

Snow dyed fabric.

How to Snow Dye
Prewash cotton fabric in Synthrapol and hot water.
Soak 1 yard cotton fabric in a solution of 2+1/2 T soda ash (sodium carbonate, NOT baking soda), to 1 qt. hot water.
Wad fabric up, and place it in a plastic bag.
Pack snow firmly on top of fabric, until bag is stuffed hard, and barely closes.
Pour on liquid dye solution, 1T Procion MX fiber reactive dye, mixed in 1/3 cup water.
If you want more than 1 color, add it now.
Close the bag, place it in a bucket, and let the snow melt.
Leave it only until the snow has melted, about 12 hours, then wash in hot water.
Rewash until rinse is clear.
