A new Turtle Purse, just finished, number 240.
Today I put the binding on 4 quilts, and made the hanging sleeves. You have seen these already, it's just finishing details. And I made a new Coneflowers and Mums quilt, which I will show you when it's quilted, tomorrow or Wednesday.
I have news too. I will be a featured speaker and teacher at the Great Lakes Quilt Guild, in April. I'm doing a trunk show, and teaching a Quick as aWink Quilt.
And, I will be vending at the Good Thyme Garden Club regional meeting, Oct. 22. I hope to have many new flower quilts for sale there. It's always feast or famine, so I'm doing all the shows I can while it's available.

My cousin Alison has made some really beautiful bracelets for the Harvest of the Arts. Be sure to come by my booth to see them next Saturday. They are made of Delicas, and Swarovski crystals. I feel like Zsa Zsa with them on my wrists. Funny how the Hungarian part of me always pops up, when I am around glittering jewels.

While I sewed I thought of the poem The Highwayman, which was my moms' favorite. It goes, "The moon was a ghostly galleon, tossed upon cloudy seas...". So, I made the moon ghostly.

Today I ordered all the stuff for Marbling on Fabric, and Gradation Dyeing, both classes I will be teaching. And I did a quick sample of using shaving cream as a base for marbling on. It does not work nearly as well as Methyl Cel. This is the best piece I got. The shaving cream dilutes the paint too much. So, we are using the other method. It takes more time to prepare, but you get so much better results. Just wait and see. Number 234.
You guys will get tired of this, but once again, I am posting something I've made changes to. I lightened the background, a lot, on this painting. It is dark in my family room, and the colors that looked bold under a bright light, were very dim in the house. I may lighten it even more, but I think this is improved.

Number 233. Today I took a one day workshop to paint an abstract flower. Kathe Suddendorf was the teacher. It was a fun experience, and I like my painting. In fact, I think I'll paint a sunflower! (surprise, surprise!)
I like Kathes' direct approach to painting. It was easy to follow her directions. My flower does not look like the sample, and she was okay with that. I learned a lot about painting, and I know I just touched the subject.
I took a painting class from another Kathy, Kathy Rhadigan a couple years ago. It was a mural class, and I painted a large dream scene. So, since I am a Kathy, I am now triple dosed with Kathy perspective.
I am including a picture of the mural I painted in Kathy Rhadigans' class.
